SUMMARY:CES-NL Virtual Cafe: Defining "Good" Evaluation\, June 25th\, 12:30 PM - 1 PM
DESCRIPTION:CES-Newfoundland & Labrador Virtual Café: Defining “Good” Evaluation\n\n\n\nJoin us online for the CES-NL Virtual Café\, where we’ll dive into what makes an evaluation truly good. \n\n\n\nOverview \n\n\n\nJoin us online for a thought-provoking conversation about what makes an evaluation “good” in practice—and how evaluators navigate competing expectations in their work. \n\n\n\nDefining “Good” Evaluation \n\n\n\nWhat does quality really mean in evaluation? \n\n\n\nAs evaluators\, we often strive for evaluations that are rigorous\, useful\, and feasible\, but these qualities don’t always align perfectly. Different stakeholders may have different ideas about what success looks like\, and evaluators are frequently tasked with balancing methodological standards\, practical constraints\, and decision-making needs. \n\n\n\nThis Virtual Café invites participants to reflect on the realities of evaluation and explore questions such as: \n\n\n\n\nWhat does a “good” evaluation look like to you?\n\n\n\nHow do rigour\, usefulness\, and feasibility balance out in real-world evaluation practice?\n\n\n\nHave you ever disagreed with a stakeholder about what “good” meant? How did you navigate it?\n\n\n\n\nThis 30-minute session is designed to be: \n\n\n\n\nConversational\n\n\n\nReflective\n\n\n\nQuestion-driven\n\n\n\n\nNo presentations. No slides. Just an opportunity to connect with fellow evaluators\, share experiences\, and explore how we define and deliver quality in our work. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re new to evaluation or have years of experience\, bring your perspectives\, questions\, and stories to the conversation. \n\n\n\nRegister through: CES-NL Virtual Café: Defining “Good” Evaluation Tickets\, Thursday\, June 25  •  12 PM – 12:30 PM NDT | Eventbrite
